History of Mountain View

Mountain View is located near historic Fort Bridger, and was founded in 1891. It is one of the gateways to camping, fishing and hiking in the only major east-to-west mountain range in the United States: the Uinta Range. It's also an excellent place for visitors to see one of the nation's largest Mountain Man Rendezvous every Labor Day at nearby Fort Bridger. The Mountain Man Rendezvous comes complete with period costumes, tomahawk competitions, black powder shoots, and much more.  This is an event for the entire family to enjoy showing how the early settlers survived on the frontier.

In January of 2005, Nikki Walker and Louise Davis put together a Mountain View Memory Book. It's full of information and wonderful pictures.
